Como Zoo is excited to host the Free to be Green event at Como Zoo for the 4th year. Designed to be a fun and interactive environment, “Free to be Green” educates guests on how to be ecologically aware and conserve with easy everyday steps that are good for the environment, and their pocket book. “Green” conservation stations will be set up around the zoo, allowing for guests to learn about environmental issues facing Minnesota and pick up some easy, eco-friendly lifestyle practices while enjoying a day with the zoo animals.

Need a break from the 21st century? Come to the annual Medieval Fair! Discover what it was like to live during the Middle Ages in the wooded setting of Caponi Art Park. Members of the Society for Creative Anachronism's Barony of Nordskogen chapter bring you the Middle Ages as they should have been: without the strife and pestilence!

Authentic pavilions will be on display for the afternoon in a Medieval Village as SCA members in period dress present educational demonstrations and activities to the public, which will include rapier and armored combat, music and dance, weaponry and armorers, storytelling Bards, jugglers, cooking, period games, heraldry, bone carving, fiber arts, and other arts and skills.

After visiting the Medieval Fair, be sure to tour the rest of the park including the Sculpture Garden and Theater in the Woods.
